About the role
Pinterest is building a product that helps millions of people discover ideas, imagine new possibilities, and plan meaningful moments. This apprenticeship is designed for people from non-technical backgrounds and for those who have faced barriers entering the product design field. It offers a chance to work in Product Design at Pinterest for up to one year, with the possibility of being considered for a full-time Product Designer role afterward. Employment is at-will, and the exact length of the apprenticeship is not guaranteed even though programs can last up to one year.

What you will do
- Partner with Pinterest Product Designers and teammates in Research, Product Management, and Engineering on a meaningful, high-impact project.
- Build understanding of the full design process, from early ideas and exploration through implementation with Engineering.
- Work closely with a mentor who will help you learn the expectations of a Product Designer at Pinterest.
- Use AI tools to improve efficiency and make collaboration across teams smoother and more productive.
- Continue developing through ongoing learning and professional growth opportunities.
What the team is looking for
- People from non-tech backgrounds, including design bootcamp graduates, self-taught candidates, and applicants without a related degree or prior Product Design experience.
- Self-driven professionals who want to build a career in tech and are eager to learn what success looks like as a Product Designer at Pinterest.
- A growth-oriented mindset and the ability to learn emerging AI tools quickly and apply them thoughtfully across the product development process, with attention to quality, craft, and efficiency.
- At least 1 year of experience working collaboratively and communicating clearly in a professional environment is preferred.
- Practical working knowledge of design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Photoshop, or Illustrator.
Work arrangement
This role is expected to be performed in person in San Francisco, CA. The working model may vary depending on the needs of the team or role.
Relocation and eligibility
No relocation assistance will be provided for this position. Applicants must be currently and legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
Students who are currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD program are not eligible, since apprentices are expected to work full-time during business hours.
Compensation
The posted base pay range for this position is $8,910 to $10,450 per month. Final compensation may depend on location, relevant prior experience, and specific skills or expertise.
