Opportunity Overview
As the AI Academy Manager at Beca, you will report to the Team Lead for Tech Insights and Adoption, collaborating closely with the Group Head of Innovation Investment & AI. Your primary responsibility is to translate Beca’s AI strategic vision and capability roadmap into a comprehensive learning strategy spanning the entire organization. You will spearhead the establishment, scaling, and leadership of the AI Academy, serving as a trusted platform to elevate AI skills across the enterprise, built upon Responsible AI principles and aligned with corporate governance frameworks.
You will hold full responsibility for launching, operating, and progressively enhancing the AI Academy’s governance, delivery frameworks, and measurable business outcomes. Over time, this will include building and managing a high-performing team focused on designing, delivering, and continuously refining AI capability-building initiatives throughout the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a sequenced, multi-level AI curriculum covering foundational knowledge through to advanced practitioner and leadership development pathways.
- Collaborate with Business Group Directors, AI Centre of Excellence, Digital Enablement Leaders, Learning & Development teams, and subject experts to define AI capability standards for different career stages and embed AI learning into existing programmes tailored to roles and disciplines.
- Commission, curate, and co-create high-quality AI learning assets utilizing diverse learning modalities, including hands-on, tool-based experiences.
- Engage and manage relationships with external partners such as consultants, training providers, and vendors to supplement internal expertise, ensuring a standardized and high-quality learner experience.
- Implement mechanisms to monitor participation, skill improvement, and organizational impact of AI learning initiatives and use insights for continuous program enhancement.
- Report progress, risks, and opportunities to the AI Centre of Excellence, People & Culture team, and senior leadership, while advocating an AI-first mentality within the organization.
- Support leadership role-modelling of AI adoption, foster AI communities of practice, and champion safe, confident AI usage that drives lasting value at Beca.
Candidate Profile
- Experienced learning or capability leader with proven success delivering enterprise-wide programs aligned with organizational priorities at scale.
- Comfortable engaging with technical AI specialists and translating strategic objectives into curricula, pathways, and adoption outcomes.
- Demonstrated expertise in designing and governing structured learning frameworks within large complex organizations, balancing foundational literacy and advanced practitioner development.
- Strong understanding of AI and emerging technologies, Responsible AI principles, risk management, and internal control alignment.
- Excellent partnership skills with senior leaders, governance bodies, business directors, and external education and training providers, managing vendors with clarity and commercial discipline.
- Holds a tertiary qualification, ideally with postgraduate study, complemented by outstanding communication and program leadership capabilities.
- Background in capability strategy, learning design, organizational change management, or digital enablement.
- Passion for embedding responsible AI adoption by creating tailored learning pathways and enabling safe, confident use across the organization.
