Role Overview
The role of Accounts Payable/Receivable Coordinator offers an opportunity for a meticulous finance professional to play a vital role in supporting the financial operations for a fast-growing business. This prominent position serves as the crucial connection between the Canadian branch network and the North American Accounts Payable team (APNA). The coordinator will manage essential payment processes, ensure compliance with regulations, and maintain strong vendor relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure government and tax compliance by calculating and submitting payment requests related to federal and provincial tax remittances, along with provincial workers' compensation premiums, preventing any late filing penalties.
- Manage vendor and purchase order activities including processing payment requests for vendors exempt from purchase orders and supporting branch managers and administrative teams with PO portal and vendor onboarding systems.
- Oversee banking operations by handling daily mobile and scanner check deposits averaging 250 checks per day and processing monthly recurring customer credit card payments through the Chase portal.
- Collaborate closely with the US Accounts Payable department on a daily basis to address payment inquiries, submit employee garnishments, and reallocate customer payments using Microsoft Dynamics NAV across multiple Lines of Business.
- Act as a key advisor and support resource for branch managers and administrative staff across Canada regarding accounts payable questions and troubleshooting.
Candidate Profile and Skills
- Minimum of two years of administrative experience in a demanding, professional environment.
- Fluency in both French and English is mandatory.
- Strong familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Competence using Google Suite applications such as Google Docs, Drive, Gmail, and Calendars.
- Ability to quickly learn and operate various computer software systems.
- Experience with vendor portals is beneficial.
- Exceptional attention to detail and proofreading skills.
- Strong analytical thinking and the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
- Capable of prioritizing tasks independently without direct supervision.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to apply tact and diplomacy when interacting with others.
- Exhibits a strong work ethic, punctuality, and maintains professionalism.
