Accounting Specialist

About the Role

Foreign Venture Group (FVG) is searching for a meticulous and reliable Accounting Specialist to join our expanding outsourced accounting division. This position involves delivering daily accounting support to an international firm that serves not-for-profit clients. You will be vital in ensuring precise financial records, managing transaction processes, and assisting with month-end accounting operations within a cooperative remote team environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately and promptly handle Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable transactions.
• Prepare and execute month-end account reconciliations.
• Process and balance intercompany transactions.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts methodically.
• Input journal entries with complete supporting documentation.
• Identify and promptly address any accounting discrepancies.
• Contribute to month-end and year-end closing procedures.
• Keep financial records accurate, compliant with accounting standards and client protocols.
• Work closely with internal teams and clients to ensure timely completion of accounting tasks.
• Provide additional transactional accounting and bookkeeping support as needed.

Qualifications

• Possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Have at least two years of experience in bookkeeping or transactional accounting.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and comprehensive accounting cycles.
• Experience handling Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, and account reconciliations.
• Proficient with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics or comparable ERP systems.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational abilities.
• Analytical thinker with effective problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English communication.
• Capable of working independently while actively participating in a remote team setting.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting accounting firms or managing multiple clients.
• Background working with not-for-profit organizations is advantageous.
• Familiarity with cloud-based accounting systems.
• Experience within outsourced accounting or Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) environments.
• CPA qualification or pursuing CPA certification is beneficial.
