About the Role
Specialty Products, a division of Gorton's—America’s foremost frozen seafood brand—is looking to hire a 2nd Shift General Helper at their Brook Park, Ohio processing facility. This full-time position operates from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM and offers competitive pay starting at $22.23 per hour, along with full benefits and overtime opportunities. Key Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts while adhering strictly to safety protocols.
- Comply with all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to meet both internal and external quality and compliance standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of production areas through regular sweeping, vacuuming, and removal of product accumulation on floors and equipment.
- Manage waste by promptly removing trash, recyclables, and other refuse throughout and at the end of shifts.
- Carry out specific cleaning assignments as directed by supervisory or management personnel.
- Prepare materials staging for ongoing production needs and for the succeeding shift.
- Provide coverage for other roles during breaks or as needed, per supervisor requests.
- Ensure washroom cleanliness, organizational standards, and safety measures, including secured chemical storage, clean floors, and properly stored tools, throughout the shift and before shift end.
Candidate Requirements
- Ability to manually lift bags, boxes, or tubs weighing between 50 and 70 pounds and handle pallet movement when necessary.
- Possession of a high school diploma or GED.
- Experience in a processing plant or a similarly fast-paced work environment is preferred.
- Self-motivated with a positive, proactive attitude.
- Willingness and availability to work overtime as needed.
