About the Internship
This full-time, in-office internship at Planys Technologies Private Limited offers hands-on experience with underwater robotic inspection and survey solutions. Interns will be actively engaged in enhancing and maintaining the software framework that powers the company's systems, supporting R&D efforts, and implementing new functionalities using sound software engineering principles. Key assignments include programming embedded hardware components such as cameras, microcontrollers, wireless and signal devices, creating module-specific test suites to assure quality, and performing extensive real-world testing on remotely operated vehicles (ROVs). Interns will also troubleshoot issues discovered during field trials and document findings for future reference. Effective communication and collaboration with various stakeholders are essential to integrate modern frameworks and tools into the software ecosystem.
About the Company
Planys Technologies Private Limited is an IIT Madras-incubated startup specializing in submerged robotic inspection and survey solutions. The company develops indigenous submersible remotely operated underwater vehicles (ROVs) and autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs). Founded by IIT Madras alumni and mechanical engineering faculty, Planys aims to deliver end-to-end automated inspection services that include custom-designed robotic platforms, integrated sensing, and diagnostics.
