About Odisha Development Management Programme (ODMP)
ODMP is an established coalition of community NGOs, environmentalists, and scholars in Odisha, originating from grassroots civic movements after the 1999 post-super-cyclone. Starting in 2001 from the Puri district, ODMP brought together 51 NGOs across 11 blocks, partnering with UNICEF and Odisha's Department of Rural Development to implement water and sanitation programs. Their dedicated efforts from 2001 to 2004 earned notable state and national accolades. Since 2005, ODMP has broadened its focus to environmental and developmental initiatives in additional districts, including projects like the Nirmal Srikhetra Aviyan aimed at managing solid and hospital waste in Puri, with support from international organizations such as UNDP-SGP-GEF, GIZ, and RKS hospital under ODMP's guidance.
