TGT Tamil Teacher (Online)

Position Overview

Sunbeam World School is inviting applications for the role of an Online Tamil Teacher. This full-time position involves conducting virtual Tamil lessons to deliver comprehensive language education, encompassing grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing, and literature. The candidate will engage students through interactive online classes while maintaining academic excellence and effective communication.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct interactive online Tamil lessons for students, covering all curriculum aspects.
• Create and deliver digital lesson plans, presentations, worksheets, and related educational materials.
• Utilize virtual teaching platforms and digital tools efficiently to promote student learning.
• Encourage active learning participation and keep students engaged throughout sessions.
• Evaluate student progress through assignments, tests, activities, and participation, providing constructive feedback.
• Report academic progress to students’ parents and school management when necessary.
• Support students requiring extra academic help.
• Maintain a disciplined, positive, and supportive virtual classroom atmosphere.
• Participate in staff meetings, training, and school events in an online format.

Qualification and Experience

• Possess a Bachelor's degree from a recognized university; degrees in Tamil, Tamil Literature, Education, or related fields preferred.
• Relevant teaching qualification such as B.Ed. is advantageous.
• At least one year of teaching experience is preferred, with online teaching experience considered an asset.
• Fresh graduates demonstrating excellent Tamil language proficiency may be considered.

Skills and Competencies

• Strong command over both spoken and written Tamil with excellent grammar and vocabulary.
• Proficiency in using online teaching tools such as Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, digital whiteboards, and presentation software.
• Ability to deliver engaging and well-structured online lessons.
• Good organizational, interpersonal, and time management skills.
• Patience, creativity, and enthusiasm to motivate children in virtual learning environments.

Preferred Candidate Attributes

• Native Tamil speaker is preferred.
• Deep knowledge of Tamil language and culture advantageous.
• Previous experience in virtual teaching preferred.
• Availability to join immediately is favorable.

• Access to reliable high-speed internet.
• A laptop or desktop computer equipped with a functional webcam and microphone.
• Quiet and professional space suitable for conducting online classes.
