About the Company
Rocket Factory Augsburg (RFA) is working to open up space access by developing low-cost, adaptable, and dependable launch solutions. The company builds small launch vehicles intended to place satellites into Low Earth Orbit and further destinations, with the aim of advancing space services and creating positive impact on Earth. RFA is part of Europe’s New Space movement.
About the Team
You would join an international, fast-moving team focused on high-performance engineering in aerospace. The company is looking for someone motivated to take on a Technical Project Manager role in a collaborative and dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of projects in your area, managing schedule, cost, quality, and risk while keeping work aligned with functional goals, budget limits, and milestone plans.
- Create and update project timelines, monitor progress, record important milestones, and share status through reports and presentations.
- Handle coordination between supply chain and production activities so development and manufacturing work runs smoothly.
- Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to keep objectives aligned, improve communication flow, and remove operational blockers.
- Distribute resources across projects in a way that supports priorities, deadlines, and overall productivity.
- Contribute to long-term process improvements that can make operations more efficient.
- Assist with resource and budget planning so projects remain within agreed constraints.
- Offer technical and logistical support to teams so deliverables are executed successfully.
- Identify project risks early and drive mitigation actions throughout the full project lifecycle.
- Track, coordinate, and report on multiple engine units through their complete lifecycle.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering and/or Mechanical Engineering.
- At least 3 years of experience in project management; experience in the space sector is an advantage.
- Strong listening skills, paired with the ability to keep the team moving forward.
- Comfort working in uncertain environments and bringing structure where it is needed.
- Genuine interest in New Space and a strong technical mindset.
- Business-fluent English skills, both spoken and written, since daily work is conducted in English.
- Confidence using MS Office and project management software.
- Good time management, collaborative working style, and emotional intelligence.
- Independent, proactive, and structured way of working.
- Solid awareness of cost and risk with a business-oriented perspective.
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability.
- Results-focused approach with a bias toward execution.
- Clear and confident communication skills, including the ability to influence stakeholders and support decisions.
- Practical problem-solving mindset that prioritizes solutions over obstacles.
- Persistence and resilience to perform well in complex and demanding settings.
