Overview
This position supports the implementation and execution of Aditya Birla Health Insurance's Gen-AI and emerging technology initiatives. Responsibilities include collaborating with diverse teams, driving adoption of innovative solutions, and contributing to impactful technology projects that align with business objectives.
About the Business and Industry Context
Aditya Birla Health Insurance Company Ltd, a 51:49 joint venture between Aditya Birla Capital Limited and MMI Strategic Investments (Pty) Ltd, operates in the competitive Indian health insurance market, aiming to expand coverage beyond traditional segments with its unique “Health Insurance for All” proposition.
The health insurance industry features numerous competitors with notable challenges: the predominant market renewal rate with existing providers limits fresh business to about 1,500 Crores annually. Growth in SMEs and startups offers considerable opportunities which the company aims to address by crafting tailored, cost-effective solutions to broaden channel partner reach across India.
The insurer also focuses on catering to evolving customer health needs via comprehensive wellness incentives, chronic care management programs, and a digital-first approach to policy and customer service.

Major challenges include aligning fast-evolving technologies with long-term objectives, influencing senior leadership on technology adoption, managing compliance and ethical considerations, and scaling pilot projects under budget constraints.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a strategic roadmap for AI and emerging technology adoption aligned with ABHI’s health-first mission.
- Identify and prioritize feasible, high-impact AI use cases such as chronic care coaching and claims automation.
- Manage the vendor ecosystem end-to-end including RFP processes, proof of concept design, contract negotiations, and performance evaluation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, Operations, and Compliance to embed technology solutions effectively.
- Design and deliver training programs to elevate team capabilities on GenAI tools and practices.
- Establish governance principles working with Legal, Risk, and Compliance to enforce India’s DPDP Act and ethical AI standards ensuring transparency and fairness.
- Track and report key metrics including case pipeline progress, business outcomes, vendor ROI, and stakeholder adoption rates.
