Position Overview

The role of Team Leader at the Queensland Government involves supervising and guiding staff in evidence-based strategies aimed at reducing reoffending among youth offenders. Key Responsibilities

• Supervise staff in applying evidence-based techniques such as case management frameworks, risk assessment tools, cognitive approaches, collaborative problem solving, pro-social modeling, and restorative justice interventions.
• Lead and coordinate the Programs Team to ensure effective operations and alignment with organizational priorities.
• Distribute, prioritize, and perform quality checks on individual tasks following departmental procedures and statutory, financial, and administrative guidelines.
• Engage in ongoing professional development to stay informed on current best practices in youth offender engagement, including maintaining necessary accreditations.
• Manage the suicide risk process within the youth justice service center.
• Offer expert advice on complex issues to maintain high standards in youth justice casework and restorative justice methods.
• Actively participate in youth justice service center’s staff and management teams contributing to strategic planning, operational evaluations, and decision-making.
• Foster collaborative professional relationships with internal departments and external stakeholders to support case management and restorative justice activities.
• Support identification and evaluation of client service trends and outcomes, including preparing performance reports to promote coordinated service delivery locally.
• Lead recruitment, selection, professional growth, and culturally sensitive supervision of team members.
• Promote and contribute to a workplace culture that values effective communication with diverse cultures, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, respecting cultural protocols and historical impacts.
• Exemplify commitment to cultural capability development to support inclusivity and uphold values aligned with the Human Rights Act 2019, fostering community partnerships that maintain cultural connections.

Additional Information

The position offers a salary range between $118,967 and $127,941 annually, plus a 12.75% superannuation contribution. Applications will remain valid for 12 months.
