About the Role
We are seeking experienced, motivated, and self-driven Surveillance Investigators to join our professional team dedicated to preventing and fighting insurance fraud. This is an hourly, non-exempt, field-based role requiring daily travel throughout the designated area in New Orleans, Louisiana. Advancement opportunities are available including managerial roles, SIU investigations, and other operational positions.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct various types of surveillance including stationary, mobile, and covert operations
- Perform background checks
- Prepare clear, detailed, and concise investigative reports documenting all findings
- Obtain and secure video evidence
- Testify at hearings and trials as required
- Operate independently with minimal oversight
- Develop investigative strategies tailored to assignments
- Research new information to support investigations
- Provide daily updates on active cases
- Communicate results effectively with clients
Candidate Qualifications
- Preferred possession of a Private Investigator license
- Relevant experience as a private investigator, law enforcement officer, loss prevention professional, process server, security personnel, or an honorably discharged military member
- Access to a reliable surveillance vehicle
- Willingness to travel approximately 75% of the time
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record per company policy
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to work autonomously and manage time effectively
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and general computer literacy
- Successful completion of drug and pre-employment testing
- Analytical skills to interpret information and generate accurate findings
- Commitment to one week of paid formal training at the corporate office, followed by on-the-job and specialized training
Compensation and Benefits
The company provides investigators with necessary equipment, competitive compensation including pay for drive time, higher than typical mileage reimbursement, and covers licensing fees in most states along with allowances for business expenses that are not reimbursed.
Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and disability insurance, paid vacation, and participation in a 401K/profit sharing retirement plan.
Investigators are compensated on a bi-weekly basis, earning an hourly wage ranging from $25 to $30, depending on experience.
