Supervisor – Civil Construction

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Civil Construction Supervisor to oversee key infrastructure projects in Darwin, Northern Territory. Reporting directly to the Project Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating site-based construction tasks, leading teams across Defence and civil infrastructure endeavors to ensure safe, top-quality deliveries within budget and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor work packages to guarantee timely completion, adherence to budgets, and compliance with quality criteria
• Collaborate effectively with subcontractor supervisors to coordinate ongoing work activities
• Manage daily deployment of labor, machinery, materials, and subcontractors on site
• Ensure activities align with the Project Management Plan
• Increase productivity while overseeing the performance of crews and subcontractors
• Conduct various site meetings including pre-starts, toolbox talks, and inductions
• Foster strong relationships with clients, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders
• Provide mentorship and guidance to team members

Candidate Requirements

• Proven supervisory experience within civil construction projects
• History of delivering projects on schedule, within budget, and meeting quality standards
• Strong leadership skills with experience managing sizable crews
• Capability to coordinate resources throughout site operations
• Excellent planning and reporting competencies
• Effective communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
• Proficient in IT and reporting tools
• Firm commitment to safety with an excellent Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) record
• Mandatory possession of a current White Card and valid driver's license
• Additional certifications such as First Aid, Traffic Control, HSEQ training are advantageous
