Position Overview

As a Stockperson / Cartpusher at Walmart Canada, you significantly contribute to a safe, orderly, and inviting shopping atmosphere. Your main duties include collecting carts from parking areas and returning them securely to designated storage using Walmart's approved methods. This role also involves interacting courteously with customers and maintaining a strong emphasis on safety to help ensure smooth store operation while developing key retail, teamwork, and customer service skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect shopping carts from designated areas including cart corrals, parking lots, and store perimeter and return them properly following Walmart procedures.
• Accurately complete required documentation and logs related to cart collection.
• Respond swiftly to requests from register staff and Customer Service, assisting with carry-ins and carry-outs and verifying purchase receipts as needed.
• Perform cleaning and maintenance tasks, including restroom upkeep, chemical handling, proper waste disposal, and safe operation of power equipment, following established guidelines.
• Complete mandatory equipment inspections prior to use.
• Strictly obey all safety protocols and emergency guidelines such as hazardous communication, lockout/tagout, and bloodborne pathogen precautions to ensure a safe environment for all.
• Wear necessary personal protective equipment like steel toe shoes and reflective vests, conduct safety checks routinely, and adhere to company policies fostering a hazard-free workplace.
• Be available to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays depending on store demands, to maintain consistent high-quality service for customers.

Challenges in the Role

• Effectively handle a high volume of tasks in a fast-moving environment.
• Manage overnight work schedules thoughtfully to maintain energy and focus.
• Keep a pace that meets high restocking and recovery demands without sacrificing accuracy.
• Execute physically demanding duties such as standing long periods, bending, and lifting items up to 20 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Maintain attention to detail while conducting repetitive tasks like stocking, zoning, and organizing to uphold store standards.

Compensation

The base pay for this position starts at $17.75 per hour.

Minimum Qualifications

• Candidates must be 16 years of age or older.
