Job description
Role Overview
This position is ideal for individuals who excel at organizing operations, resolving logistic challenges, and ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of customer orders. As a Shipping Coordinator, you will be pivotal in managing daily shipping operations, coordinating outbound shipments, overseeing order processing, and collaborating closely with warehouse, planning, customer service, and operations teams in a manufacturing and office environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily shipping operations to guarantee precise processing and punctual delivery of customer orders.
- Examine customer orders, review shipping timetables, and check inventory availability to maintain efficient workflows.
- Organize and combine shipments to optimize transportation efficiency and control freight expenses.
- Liaise with warehouse personnel, planning, customer service teams, and transportation partners to address shipping concerns and adapt to evolving customer requirements.
- Prepare all necessary shipping documentation, customs forms, labels, and keep detailed shipping records.
- Audit freight bills, investigate shipment discrepancies, and assist in ongoing operational improvements.
- Engage in inventory cycle counts and support additional shipping and operational projects as needed.
Qualifications and Skills
- A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required; college education is advantageous.
- Experience in coordinating shipping, transportation, or logistics in a manufacturing or distribution context.
- Exceptional organizational abilities to juggle various priorities in a fast-moving environment.
- Strong communication skills facilitating effective collaboration across multiple teams.
- Proficiency with business software for managing shipping, inventory, and customer orders.
- Ability to work autonomously with a high degree of precision and detail orientation.
- Understanding of domestic and international shipping procedures is a plus.
