Job description
Role Overview
This position involves leading stress testing initiatives and continuous monitoring of the Singapore financial sector. The primary focus is on conducting scenario analyses and evaluating financial risk stress tests to ensure financial stability.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform stress testing for both short-term and long-term financial risks, including climate-related risks, in Singapore's financial ecosystem. Identify vulnerabilities and evaluate implications for overall financial system stability.
- Monitor significant international macroeconomic and financial developments, analyzing their potential impact and spillover effects on Singapore's financial system.
- Conduct comprehensive surveillance and research on Singapore's banking sector and financial markets to detect weaknesses and assess potential stability risks.
- Lead or contribute to in-depth topical studies concerning the financial sector and markets in Singapore and neighboring regions to extract pertinent insights. Engage in international policy dialogues relating to global and regional financial stability.
- Produce research material and deliver regular macro-financial updates to senior management and stakeholders. Publication of findings occurs in MAS' annual Financial Stability Review.
Candidate Profile
- Possess strong quantitative capabilities such as econometrics, preferably supported by degrees in Economics, Finance, or Econometrics.
- Proficient in data analytics and processing tools, including languages like R.
- Demonstrate excellent analytical skills with a solid grasp of current macroeconomic and financial contexts.
- Exhibit strong written communication and presentation skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
- Capable of delivering timely research both independently and collaboratively.
