About the Supply Chain Team

The Supply Chain division manages the movement and availability of materials and components essential to production. They ensure assembly kits for Electron rocket construction, maintain inventory, handle shipping and receiving, oversee procurement, and verify compliance and quality standards. Their efforts are critical to the success of Rocket Lab's rocket and satellite programs.

Role Summary

Situated at the Auckland facility, the Senior Production Coordinator plays a key role in supporting production by managing material flow to shop floor work orders, tracking progress, expediting deliveries, and resolving production obstacles. This position works closely with production planners to keep materials arriving on schedule, with prospects to advance into production planning.

Key Responsibilities

• Timely issuance of materials for shopfloor production tasks.
• Regularly operate within designated departments to execute material movements and manage kanban systems.
• Maintain accurate lineside inventory records, including cycle counts and department organization.
• Track inventory orders and promptly escalate risks of delayed delivery.
• Oversee perishable and consumable items to avoid production interruptions and report potential shortages.
• Address and resolve material shortages impeding production order fulfillment.
• Assist with prioritizing and expediting subassemblies aligned with vehicle integration schedules, ensuring smooth receipt, quality checks, and inventory management.
• Collaborate across functions as an effective team member to meet broader organizational goals.
• Provide support to various supply chain departments as needed.
• Perform any additional duties assigned related to the production coordination role.

Qualifications and Experience

• Completion of high school education with over four years in production roles within fast-paced manufacturing environments.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite applications including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Familiarity with ERP software systems.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to manage tasks and provide comprehensive updates.
• Ability to multitask and operate efficiently under tight deadlines in a dynamic setting.
• Excellent organizational skills with capacity to prioritize work effectively.
• Capability or willingness to operate forklifts and other relevant equipment.

Preferred Credentials

• Certification or diploma related to manufacturing, business, or supply chain management is advantageous.

Working Conditions

The role may involve extended periods of sitting, standing, walking, and computer use, with occasional exposure to moderate noise, dust, and fumes typical of production areas.
