Senior Estimator Engineer

About the Role

Alqaro Roads Contracting L.L.C. is looking for a skilled Senior Estimator Engineer with significant experience in the UAE's construction sector. The successful candidate will be accountable for developing precise cost estimates and tender proposals for civil and infrastructure projects including roads and buildings.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare comprehensive cost estimates, bills of quantities (BOQs), and tender documentation for construction and infrastructure assignments.
• Analyze tender packages, specifications, engineering drawings, and contract conditions thoroughly.
• Source and assess quotations from vendors and subcontractors effectively.
• Perform quantity take-offs and detailed cost evaluations accurately.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, procurement, and project teams throughout the tendering phase.
• Detect potential project risks and propose economically viable solutions.
• Ensure the timely submission of all estimates in line with deadlines.
• Maintain and update a database tracking material, labor, and equipment costs consistently.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• At least 5 years of professional experience as an Estimator Engineer within the construction industry.
• Proven expertise in estimating for civil, roadworks, infrastructure, or commercial building projects.
• Strong skills in quantity take-offs, BOQ preparation, and tender bid formulation.
• Capability to interpret engineering drawings and detailed specifications.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and specialized estimating software.
• Excellent analytical thinking, negotiation aptitude, and communication skills.
• Experience working in the UAE is highly advantageous.
