Senior ELV Pre-Sales & Design Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior ELV Pre-Sales & Design Engineer to join our team on a full-time, onsite basis in the Doha Metropolitan Area. This role involves detailed review and preparation of ELV system designs and technical proposals tailored to meet stringent client and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Examine RFQs, tender documents, architectural drawings, specifications, and client demands thoroughly.
• Develop comprehensive CCTV and Access Control System (ACS) designs including device placement, riser diagrams, schematics, and overall system infrastructure plans.
• Carry out calculations for CCTV storage needs, bandwidth, camera coverage, ACS door scheduling, controller capacity, power supply requirements including UPS, and networking considerations.
• Compile detailed technical proposals, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), cost evaluations, compliance declarations, supplier analysis, clarifications, and propose value-engineered alternatives.
• Ensure all designs and proposals adhere strictly to Ministry of Interior - Security Services Department (MOI-SSD) standards, client guidelines, and project scope.
• Critically assess supplier quotations from technical and commercial perspectives.
• Identify and document any scope omissions, project risks, exclusions, assumptions, and overlooked items prior to final submissions.
• Provide strong technical and sales support during client engagements, proposals, and presentations.
• Prepare and submit technical documentation including submittals, method statements, system descriptions, and respond to consultants’ or client comments as required.
• Facilitate project handover by clarifying design foundations, project scope, BOQs, assumptions, and exclusions.

Required Skills and Experience

• At least 10 years of experience working with ELV and security systems, with a preference for candidates familiar with the Qatar market.
• Proficient in hands-on ELV security system design, particularly CCTV and ACS, along with accurate project estimation skills.
• Strong working knowledge of MOI-SSD regulations and submission protocols.
• Expertise with video management systems (VMS), network video recorder (NVR)/server storage sizing, camera systems, ACS hardware, structured cabling, and network infrastructure.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for creating BOQs, cost sheets, supplier comparisons, formula verification, and margin analysis.
• Competent in interpreting tender, Issued For Construction (IFC) drawings, technical specifications, and consultant project requirements.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Microsoft Visio, and MS Office tools.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients, consultants, and sales teams.
• Experience with leading CCTV and ACS brands including Axis, Hikvision, Avigilon, Milestone, Genetec, Lenel, and Honeywell.

Preferred Qualifications and Certifications

• Registered Engineer with UPDA/MMUP accreditation.
• Direct experience engaging with MOI's DSA, DIA, and inspection procedures.
• Professional certifications in VMS platforms such as Milestone, Genetec, Avigilon ACC, or HikCentral.
• Certifications related to ACS systems like Lenel, Honeywell, or Avigilon ACM are advantageous.
• Cabling certifications and Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent networking certifications are considered assets.
• Knowledge in storage and server technologies (e.g., Dell, HPE, RAID arrays) and proficiency in VMS storage calculations.
