Role overview

This position in housekeeping and laundry focuses on keeping guest garments and staff uniforms in proper condition through mending, alterations, and repairs. Work may involve hand stitching, sewing machine use, and applying adhesive patches when needed. The role also includes issuing clean uniforms, tracking clothing movement, and making sure damaged items are routed to the correct repair channel.

Key duties

• Repair, alter, and mend guest clothing and employee uniforms using hand sewing, machine sewing, or adhesive patches.
• Provide clean uniforms to team members in line with company standards.
• Forward damaged uniforms to the right repair destination, such as the seamstress area, housekeeping, or an external vendor.
• Record guest laundry and dry-cleaning requests, along with minor garment repairs and pressing needs, according to company procedures.
• Track uniforms as they are issued, returned, cleaned, or left unassigned.
• Inspect uniforms for wear and damage, remove unsuitable items from use, and issue replacements.

The role requires strict adherence to company policies, safety rules, security procedures, and quality standards. You will be expected to report maintenance issues, hazards, accidents, or injuries, complete required safety training and certifications, and maintain a professional appearance at all times. Confidential information must be protected, company property must be safeguarded, and strong teamwork and guest service behavior are essential.

In daily interactions, the role calls for clear professional communication, respectful collaboration, and prompt support for guest needs. You should welcome guests warmly, assist guests with disabilities when needed, and respond to concerns from colleagues and customers appropriately. The job also involves standing, sitting, or walking for long periods, and handling objects up to 10 pounds without assistance.

Preferred qualifications

No high school diploma or GED is required. At least 1 year of related work experience is preferred. There is no supervisory experience requirement and no license or certification is needed.
