Salesforce Tech Lead

About this Role

This position sits at the crossroads of advanced Salesforce platform expertise and comprehensive systems understanding. The incumbent will remain actively involved in implementation activities, conducting in-depth code reviews, resolving complex development challenges, and ensuring architectural decisions reflect practical platform limitations. The role includes responsibilities for both solution design and project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Take full accountability for the technical integrity, design, and governance of the Salesforce environment, encompassing Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flow functionalities, the data and security models, and permission architectures.
• Establish and uphold coding standards, introduce AI-driven coding approaches, and formulate strategies to navigate governor limits effectively.
• Oversee release processes, manage sandbox environments, and lead DevOps practices including Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment pipelines.
• Architect integration solutions linking Salesforce with the larger enterprise ecosystem, such as marketing automation, ERP, HR systems, and data enrichment tools through API-based connections, event-driven design, and middleware usage.
• Evaluate and promote the adoption of new Salesforce features and emerging AI/Agentforce technologies to drive innovation.
• Lead technical design reviews and formal Request for Comments (RFC) sessions prior to significant development milestones; perform thorough code reviews aimed at knowledge sharing and elevating team expertise.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to mid-level and senior engineers on choices regarding solutions, integration impacts, system scalability, and monitoring capabilities. Direct reports may or may not be part of this role.
• Serve as a liaison translating business needs and company objectives into technical documentation, bridging engineering teams and product stakeholders effectively.

Qualifications and Skills

• Practical experience with Salesforce development and hands-on coding.
• Advanced proficiency in Apex, LWC, and Flow, including asynchronous processing, batch job management, trigger design, and complex component construction.
• In-depth knowledge of Salesforce data models, SOQL query optimization, and handling of large datasets.
• Solid understanding of integration techniques involving REST APIs, event streaming, and middleware platforms.
• Experience with DevOps tools and CI-CD workflows involving Git strategies, scratch org management, and automated deployments.
• Capability to clearly articulate architectural concepts to non-technical audiences and lead design discussions effectively.
• Demonstrated experience mentoring team members through code reviews, design feedback sessions, and paired programming.
• Familiarity with Salesforce Marketing tools such as Account Engagement and Marketing Cloud is advantageous.
• Mandatory certifications include Salesforce Platform Developer II and Administrator; additional certifications like Application Architect, System Architect, AI Associate/Specialist, or Integration Architecture Designer are highly preferred.
