Role overview
AKA Hotels + Hotel Residences is looking for a Sales Manager to support AKA White House in Washington, DC. The right person will be ready to contribute immediately, bring prior experience in closing business, and help uncover new revenue opportunities for the property. This position calls for someone who is energetic, highly organized, results-driven, and comfortable working closely with a team.

AKA White House offers refined accommodations in Washington, D.C. for guests who need a convenient place to stay between meetings, a temporary home during renovations, or a comfortable retreat while exploring the area. The property features designer interiors, thoughtful comforts, sleek bathrooms, fully equipped kitchens, spacious terraces, and panoramic views across one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and penthouse suites.
Key responsibilities
- Develop a strong working knowledge of Washington, DC markets and the business segments relevant to AKA White House.
- Conduct daily site inspections for prospective individual and corporate clients.
- Identify and pursue new market segments and business opportunities for the property.
- Work with management to ensure contracts, client details, and booking information are accurate and complete.
- Attend sales meetings, off-property sales visits, and operational meetings as needed.
- Update SELL CRM every day with client details, key actions, and pipeline progress.
- Work toward individual revenue targets set by the Managing Director.
- Use ZoomInfo and LinkedIn Navigator to create prospect lists, find new accounts, and run outreach campaigns.
- Target new and existing accounts that have moved to or plan to move to Washington, DC, and stay informed through news and market coverage.
- Take part in the formal RFP process and support bid submissions through Lanyon with the Managing Director.
- Prepare pipeline reports when requested.
- Coordinate with the Hotel AKA + Hotel Residences brand sales team on business opportunities.
- Develop and maintain relationships with decision-makers in the competitive set.
Candidate profile
The ideal candidate has at least 2 to 3 years of hospitality sales experience, brings strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, and works well in a fast-moving environment. They should be self-driven, highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing. The role also requires the ability to interact effectively with a diverse range of people, both internally and externally.
Required qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree from a college or university is required.
- Proficiency with Outlook and the Microsoft Office suite is necessary.
- A flexible schedule is required based on client needs and time zones.
