Role Overview

The Safety Officer position involves full-time employment with a hybrid working model combining on-site supervision and remote tasks based in Doha, Qatar. Key responsibilities include overseeing health and safety compliance on project locations, performing inspections and risk evaluations, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols and local regulations. The officer will investigate accidents and near misses, develop comprehensive reports, and suggest proactive and corrective measures.

Additional duties include conducting safety training sessions and toolbox talks for site teams, supporting emergency preparedness plans, and collaborating closely with project managers, engineers, and on-site personnel to uphold a robust safety culture. Maintaining proper safety records, coordinating with security staff when necessary, and participating in periodic review meetings with clients and internal stakeholders are integral to the role.

Qualifications and Skills

• In-depth knowledge of Health & Safety and Occupational Health standards and local regulatory frameworks.
• Experience in accident investigations, incident reporting, root cause analysis, and formulation of corrective actions.
• Familiarity with security procedures related to construction or infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency in designing and delivering safety training, briefings, and toolbox talks for diverse teams.
• Relevant diploma or degree in safety, engineering, environmental science, or related disciplines.
• Professional certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or their equivalents are considered advantageous.
• Previous experience in engineering, construction, or infrastructure project environments, ideally within the Middle East.
• Strong communication and interpersonal capabilities enabling influence and guidance of site staff.
• Competence in documentation, reporting, and basic office software applications; capable of managing and prioritizing multiple assignments.
• Dedication to ethical practices, continuous enhancement, and promoting an inclusive and safety-centered workplace.
