Location
This fully remote role is open to candidates living anywhere in the contiguous United States, with a preference for those based in Seattle.
Role Summary
Reporting to the E-Commerce General Manager, the Retail.com & Online Merchandising Director oversees the online merchandising strategy and execution for Duracell's top retail.com accounts, including Amazon, Walmart, Costco, and hardware channels. The role serves as the subject matter expert for Retail.com strategy and Omni-Channel customer initiatives, leading a team focused on content excellence, assortment management, and retail media optimization to grow the digital presence and sales.
Core Responsibilities
- Direct online merchandising across Core Omni-Channel and online-only product assortments for key retail.com platforms.
- Lead and mentor the Retail.com & Online Merchandising team responsible for multiple retail channels like Target, Office, Food, and Drug stores.
- Act as the main liaison between the Digital Center of Excellence and Sales leadership to implement syndicated content and AI-powered technologies on retailer product detail pages (PDPs).
- Manage content creation and updates including above and below fold PDP content and ratings & reviews management (e.g., BazaarVoice).
- Administer Retail Media budgeting and coordinate execution both on and off retail.com platforms, collaborating closely with Retail Marketing on performance measurement and marketing mix modeling.
- Oversee the Core Range (online-exclusive) and 3rd party fulfillment strategies in partnership with Omni-Channel Sales Leads.
- Handle trade flow, promotion planning, execution, and performance analysis for online-exclusive product assortments.
- Collaborate with Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) on pricing and packaging configurations for retail platforms.
- Utilize AI and syndication technologies from the Digital CoE to enhance PDP optimization and AI discoverability across retailer touchpoints.
- Maintain brand store presence aligned with Retail Marketing strategies.
- Coordinate with Amazon and Pure Play sales teams to ensure consistent assortment, pricing, and promotional strategies across channels.
- Champion the development of a high-performing team with advanced digital capabilities across the Omni-Channel organization.
- Ensure compliance with all e-commerce merchandising legal, regulatory, and retailer platform policies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in e-commerce, digital merchandising, or online account management within consumer packaged goods or retail sectors.
- Proven track record managing retailer.com platforms such as Walmart.com, Costco.com, or Amazon online merchandising.
- Experience utilizing content syndication systems and tools for optimizing product detail pages.
- Familiarity with retail media platforms, budgeting processes, and marketing mix modeling concepts.
- Strong analytical skills and effective problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration across diverse internal and external teams.
- Ability to manage multiple retail accounts efficiently and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Clear, persuasive written and verbal communication suitable for interacting with various management levels.
- Strong teamwork skills with a collaborative approach involving Sales, Digital CoE, Retail Marketing, and Omni-Channel groups.
- Willingness to travel up to 20-30% within North America when necessary.
