Regional Operations Manager

Position Overview

The Regional Operations Manager oversees the operational efficiency, profitability, safety, and strategic growth of multiple bulk transport terminals across the Southeast and Gulf Coast regions. This leader provides guidance to Terminal Managers while focusing on customer satisfaction, business growth, and expanding into new market areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, execute, and assess adherence to Tidewater Transit operating procedures.
• Analyze business challenges and deploy effective solutions to improve operations.
• Review monthly Profit & Loss statements with Terminal Managers and implement strategies to optimize equipment and driver utilization.
• Engage in terminal staffing processes, evaluate employee performance, and ensure all terminal staff receive proper training on company procedures.
• Oversee monthly revenue reports related to tractors and trailers, and assess equipment inspection and maintenance schedules.
• Provide recommendations regarding equipment specifications, acquisitions, and asset allocation including tractors and trailers.
• Collaborate in customer meetings and adapt operating procedures to meet evolving customer requirements.
• Monitor and enhance dispatch procedures to improve planning and operational efficiency.
• Participate in seminars and conferences to support Tidewater's development goals.
• Ensure strict compliance with all safety protocols, Department of Transportation rules, and FMCSA regulations.

Supervisory Role

Responsible for overseeing Terminal Managers across assigned locations.

Requirements

• Preferably hold a four-year degree in Logistics, Business, or a related field (not mandatory).
• Possess at least five years of management experience within a transportation setting.
• Proficient in English communication, both written and verbal.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and plan activities effectively to fulfill organizational objectives.
• Effective communication abilities in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities.
• Above-average proficiency in computer use, especially Microsoft Office suite with an emphasis on Excel.
• Competent in data review and interpretation, employing analytical skills in decision-making with attention to detail.
• Willingness and ability to travel regularly, approximately 50% of the time.
• Capability to respond to operational challenges and support terminal operations on a 24/7 basis.
