Receiver

About the role

Sobeys is seeking a full-time Receiver for its Surrey, British Columbia location. In this position, you will help ensure merchandise is received accurately, support store operations, and contribute to a positive experience for both customers and teammates.

This role is part of Store Careers and falls under Retail - Administration. The pay range for the position is $19.00 to $24.50 per hour. Travel may be required from 0% to 10%.

What you will do

• Deliver courteous, professional service to both internal and external customers.
• Check all incoming shipments, match packing slips with received goods, and enter product details into the receiving system (SAP, Chainware, or Assist).
• Follow company receiving procedures and complete daily logs accurately.
• Help keep the back shop organized and functional.
• Support the unloading of deliveries when needed.
• Report unsafe equipment or workplace conditions so they can be addressed promptly.
• Keep store managers and staff informed about shipment updates and other internal customer needs.
• Assist with building displays and placing orders.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant work area.
• Carry out other duties as assigned.

What you need

• Ability to work independently in a busy, fast-moving environment.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Experience using Chainware, particularly in a Lawtons environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to provide effective customer service and coordinate with store teams.
• Comfort with receiving processes, inventory handling, and shipment verification.
