About the Role
The Quantity Surveyor plays a crucial role in securing the financial and contractual success of construction projects by managing quantity surveying activities on-site. This includes overseeing cost control, contract management, and procurement processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Drafting, reviewing, and managing contracts and bills of quantities (BOQ), as well as handling contract negotiations and resolving disputes.
- Coordinating procurement by sourcing materials and subcontractors, ensuring timely delivery and quality compliance.
- Ensuring all work meets applicable legal, regulatory, and health and safety standards.
- Producing regular reports detailing project progression, costs, and challenges, while maintaining clear communication with clients, contractors, and project managers.
- Identifying potential risks involving costs, schedules, and quality, and implementing strategies to mitigate litigation and claims.
- Overseeing all quantity surveying functions on construction sites to guarantee adherence to project specifications and standards.
- Preparing and managing budgets, cost estimations, and financial reports to monitor expenses and maintain costs within the approved budget.
Required Experience and Education
- A minimum of 5 to 7 years’ experience in quantity surveying, preferably within the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry.
- Experience with site supervision is mandatory.
- A degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- A postgraduate diploma in Quantity Surveying is an added advantage.

- Proficiency in English; knowledge of Arabic is beneficial.
