Role Overview

This full-time Quantity Surveyor / Estimator hybrid position is based at the Ruakaka office and requires working closely with the onsite and office teams. The position demands someone energetic, collaborative but independently driven, and adaptable to varied daily duties. Remote work is not available for this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Developing detailed estimates and cost plans for construction projects.
• Measuring quantities accurately from drawings and specifications.
• Preparing budgets and tenders supporting project submissions.
• Analyzing project drawings and technical specifications.
• Communicating effectively with designers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Updating and managing cost reports throughout project phases for informed decision-making.
• Handling project variations and monitoring financial performance.
• Supporting continuous improvement efforts in pricing strategies and internal processes.
• Working collaboratively with site and office teams to ensure timely, budget-aligned, and quality project delivery.

Candidate Profile and Qualifications

• Proven experience in quantity surveying or estimating within residential or commercial construction sectors.
• Strong competence in cost planning, measurement, and tender preparation, including interpreting architectural drawings and specifications.
• Experience with construction industry software tools (such as estimating/QS applications and Microsoft Excel) and digital document management.
• Good knowledge of building materials, construction methods, and relevant local building codes or standards.
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail and precision in cost and quantity calculations.
• Effective interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with designers, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal colleagues.
• Strong organization and time management skills for handling multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
• Formal qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or closely related fields, or equivalent relevant practical experience.
• Ability and comfort working in a hybrid setting involving office, site, and home environments with a proactive, self-managed work style.
