Role Overview

This role involves extensive participation in quality control activities centered on Business Intelligence (BI) systems, particularly Power BI solutions. The engineer will develop and execute testing strategies, validate data integrity and transformation accuracy in BI platforms, and collaborate closely with data engineering, development, and business teams to ensure requirements are met.

Key Responsibilities

• Apply advanced knowledge of software testing principles, including verification, validation, test automation, and defect management.
• Create and execute detailed test plans, cases, and scripts covering integration, migration, regression, and performance testing for BI solutions and Power BI dashboards.
• Verify data transformations and data models to ensure accuracy in Power BI reports, confirming features such as filters, drill-throughs, KPIs, and calculated metrics function correctly.
• Work with data engineers to assess data pipelines, ensuring report data consistency, accuracy, and integrity.
• Detect, log, and manage software defects and collaborate with teams to resolve issues efficiently.
• Lead prioritization of testing activities and coordinate testing schedules alongside project managers.
• Deliver comprehensive quality coverage across mobile, browser-based, and BI projects through effective testing strategies.
• Engage with business and development teams to review design specifications and acceptance criteria.
• Participate actively in all phases of the Agile software development lifecycle.
• Collect and report test metrics regularly, keeping leadership informed of progress.
• Develop and run User Acceptance Testing (UAT) documentation in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Contribute to end-user training and offer post-implementation functional support.
• Coordinate with onshore and offshore teams spanning quality control, development, system engineering, and customer support.

Qualifications and Experience

• At least five years of progressive professional experience in quality control and software testing.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience testing Business Intelligence platforms, especially Power BI reports and dashboards.
• Proven ability to validate data models, reports, and pipelines to maintain data integrity and consistency.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively work with cross-functional teams.
• Familiarity and experience with Agile development methodologies.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
