QC Inspector - Civil Engineering

Role Overview

The QC Inspector will undertake quality inspection duties, including surveillance and witnessing of inspection, testing, erection, and installation operations at construction sites, fabrication shops, and supplier locations. This is to ensure compliance with approved Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), project specifications, and international standards related to civil engineering.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out inspections and witness testing performed by EPC contractors and manufacturers following approved ITPs and project criteria.
• Examine and approve inspection and testing documentation to confirm adherence with relevant standards and project specifications.
• Oversee contractor and manufacturer QC teams’ performance and flag any quality issues.
• Represent the client during QA/QC meetings on-site and at yard locations.
• Inspect incoming materials to verify conformance with project specs and approved documents.
• Oversee fabrication, production, testing, and material verification activities based on equipment criticality and inspection criteria.
• Execute quality inspections across all civil construction activities including site preparation, soil and compaction testing, concrete mix batching, placement, and curing processes.
• Assess ready-mix concrete/asphalt plants and precast yards.
• Supervise structural steel receipt, erection, grouting, and confirm layout, alignment, level, and elevation accuracy.
• Monitor excavation, backfilling, grading, foundations, concrete works, road construction, drainage systems, and underground utilities.
• Participate in project completion walkdowns and punch list resolution.
• Report any discrepancies, deviations, and quality concerns promptly to the quality team.
• Identify and manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and ensure corrective and preventive actions are effectively implemented.
• Ensure thorough documentation of all inspections, tests, and quality records complying with statutory and project standards.

Qualifications and Skills

• Technical Diploma or Engineering Degree in Civil Engineering, minimum of two to three years in education.
• At least five years of QA/QC inspection experience within the Oil & Gas sector.
• Civil-specific QA/QC certifications are advantageous.
• Experience with construction sites, fabrication yards, manufacturing plants, and vendor inspections.
• Previous involvement in ADNOC projects is beneficial.
• Possession of a valid UAE driving license is preferred.
• Strong familiarity with international codes, standards, inspection practices, and QA/QC documentation processes.
• Excellent communication, reporting, and stakeholder coordination abilities.
• Competency in interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, procedure manuals, and quality records.
• Willingness to travel frequently across UAE project sites, fabrication facilities, and vendors as required.

This opportunity is based in Abu Dhabi at industrial plants within the Energy & Environmental Technology sector. The position is a full-time temporary role with a contract duration of 24 months.
