Role Location
This is a remote position with a preference for candidates near Memphis, TN or Dallas, TX.
Role Overview and Impact
As a QA Analyst within the Yearbook Technology team, you will be a key contributor to the quality and reliability of software that supports the full yearbook production lifecycle—from digital design through manufacturing. Your efforts ensure products meet rigorous quality standards and production readiness, supporting unique school-driven workflows and seasonal timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate within Agile teams for story refinement, test case development, execution, and defect documentation
- Review requirements and design documents to grasp testing needs
- Create and assist in developing test plans and procedures, including regression and user acceptance tests
- Conduct quality reviews to identify specification gaps and assess testability
- Support deployment readiness by validating software functionality and quality
- Engage with designers and stakeholders to define quality assurance criteria
- Identify, report, and verify resolution of software defects
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous QA process improvements
- Assist test automation efforts as appropriate
Performance Metrics
- Accurate and timely test case delivery supporting comprehensive test plans
- Reduction of defects escaping to production environments
- Effective cross-functional collaboration and communication
- Consistent delivery of high-quality software ready for yearbook production
- Active contribution to enhancement of QA standards and processes
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
- 0-2 years relevant experience including internships or academic projects
- Basic understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and quality assurance principles
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies such as Scrum
- Experience using defect tracking and test management tools including Jira
- Ability to develop and execute manual tests on web and integrated systems
- Strong analytical skills, problem-solving, and attention to detail
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities in cross-functional teams
- Adaptability to changing priorities and technologies
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working on Agile product delivery teams
