Job description
Position Overview
The role of Projects - Shop Inspection Coordinator is based in Abu Dhabi and reports to the INP Manager. It involves close collaboration with various internal teams including Project Management, Operations, Finance, Administration, Technical, and clients as well as Bureau Veritas offices globally. The coordinator will manage shop inspection activities ensuring regulatory compliance and client specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate contractual and technical requirements such as standards and specifications.
- Review and approve inspection assignment documents covering technical details, schedules, reporting protocols, and logistics.
- Define intervention strategies for Bureau Veritas operations and send clear instructions to performing offices with relevant technical and financial documentation.
- Coordinate inspection scheduling and execution with performing offices, ensuring adherence to quality standards and timely reporting.
- Oversee treatment of non-conformities and ensure deliverables meet expectations.
- Maintain communication both internally and externally, including client engagement and preparing internal invoices.
- Promote Bureau Veritas services portfolio to clients while following security guidelines and participating in knowledge sharing.
- Prepare and submit monthly reports and client invoices as required.
Technical Expertise & Qualifications
- Degree or Diploma in Engineering.
- Extensive experience of 12-15 years in shop inspection coordination or related fields.
- Strong command of English communication skills.
- Familiarity with Bureau Veritas global shop inspection guidelines, including HSE, SIEBEL and Q&S systems.
- Competence in scheduling inspectors according to technical and client requirements and issuing assignment instructions aligned with agreements.
- Well-versed in inspection techniques, codes, standards, project specifications, and capable of validating reports, non-conformities, and corrective actions.
Business and Client Relations
- Report operational concerns to appropriate management.
- Attend client meetings and maintain positive relationships.
- Implement tracking systems for inspection progress per purchase order and approved Inspection Test Plans (ITPs).
- Submit weekly and monthly progress reports on shop inspection services for assigned projects.
Personal & Safety Responsibilities
- Maintain professional expertise through continuous training and knowledge development.
- Demonstrate result-oriented, service-driven, and problem-solving behavior.
- Comply with company policies, ethics, and regulations.
- Ensure inspections conform to purchase orders, drawings, ITPs, and other technical specs.
- Engage regularly with clients to understand needs and achieve successful outcomes.
- Meet HSE requirements by following all legal, company, and client health and safety policies, promptly reporting hazards and incidents, using proper PPE, and ensuring safe work environments.
Performance and Development
- Track key performance indicators such as report delivery timelines, report quality, customer complaints, and inspection coordination timeliness.
- Seek continual development through specialized training and staying current with shop inspection coordination advances.
- Support knowledge management and share best practices across the organization.
Reporting
The coordinator reports to the Operations Manager – WW Operations and the INP/IND Manager.
Minimum education
Bachelor's Degree
