Project Manager Operations

Overview

This role involves overseeing vendor contracts and relationships within a healthcare setting to optimize vendor performance, break down operational barriers, and minimize risks. It reports directly to the Director of Performance Execution at the University of North Carolina Health Alliance under the Business Development and Performance Management team.

Vendor types span analytics, actuarial services, health technology, customer management systems, payment solutions, among others. Key stages managed include Requests for Proposal (RFP), applicant evaluations, contracting processes, onboarding, performance oversight, and contract termination. Collaboration with business owners and stakeholders such as Finance, Analytics, Legal, IT, and subject matter experts is essential to manage these phases effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and manage project plans including setting objectives, budgets, and schedules while fostering strong interdepartmental relations.
• Independently or collaboratively handle program and project duties, proactively identifying and addressing challenges before they escalate, keeping senior management informed of status and concerns.
• Oversee all project phases to meet timelines, costs, and quality standards while adhering to project scopes.
• Develop and issue Requests for Proposals, organize necessary meetings, select appropriate services and products, and assign responsibilities to project teams.
• Manage project communications, reporting to top management and sponsors about progress and potential issues.
• Conduct strategic project analyses and develop metrics to objectively assess project statuses in line with standard project management practices.
• Coordinate efforts and maintain productive relationships with vendors and contractors involved in projects.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Health Administration, or related fields, or equivalent experience.
• Professional experience requirements scale with educational background: 2 years with a Master's, 5 years with a Bachelor's, 9 years for Associate degrees, and 13 years for high school diplomas in project management-related roles.
• No specific licenses or certifications are mandatory.
• Strong familiarity with project management tools and methodologies required.

• Work location: Remote, based in Morrisville, NC
• Exempt from overtime regulations
• Salary range: $74,610 to $107,260 annually ($35.87 to $51.57 per hour), offers based on experience and internal salary equity
