Role Overview
EM3 is hiring a Project Management Lead to steer the delivery of energy management projects for industrial manufacturing clients in Limerick, Ireland. This is a full-time, permanent position reporting to the Director, Ireland.

What the Role Involves
The successful candidate will oversee project execution from start to finish, making sure energy-saving initiatives are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required scope. The role involves working closely with engineers, consultants, clients, contractors, and vendors to ensure project outcomes support client sustainability objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of complete project delivery for energy management solutions in industrial manufacturing environments.
- Work with internal teams, clients, contractors, and vendors to set scope, goals, timelines, and resource needs.
- Create detailed project plans and schedules with clear milestones and deliverables.
- Partner with clients to understand their energy priorities, operational challenges, and sustainability targets.
- Guide the design and rollout of energy strategies that improve efficiency, reduce costs, and support sustainability.
- Make sure projects follow current industry practices, standards, and energy-related regulations.
- Control project budgets and ensure resources are allocated and used effectively.
- Track progress, maintain delivery against budget and deadlines, and flag any risks early.
- Communicate regularly with stakeholders through updates, reports, presentations, and feedback discussions.
- Build strong collaboration across technical specialists, engineers, business development staff, and external partners.
- Support and mentor junior colleagues while promoting a positive team environment.
- Measure project and energy performance to assess the impact of implemented solutions.
- Prepare reports covering energy savings, efficiency gains, and sustainability results.
- Look for ways to improve internal processes and strengthen delivery methods.
- Ensure work complies with environmental and energy efficiency requirements such as ISO, LEED, and related certifications.
- Carry out quality checks to help maintain high standards in project delivery.
- Stay current with new trends, tools, technologies, and regulations in energy management.
Required Skills and Experience
- Proven project management ability across planning, execution, monitoring, and closure stages.
- Experience running complex projects and familiarity with methods such as Agile, Scrum, or PM frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of energy management systems, energy efficiency, renewable energy, and sustainability practices in manufacturing.
- Solid analytical thinking and problem-solving skills for keeping projects on track.
- Leadership skills with the ability to guide varied teams and build productive relationships.
- Good communication and interpersonal ability for working with stakeholders at different levels.
- Experience handling budgets, resources, and schedules effectively.
- Confidence in stakeholder management across clients, vendors, and internal teams.
- Ability to identify and manage project risks.
- Comfort with energy management software, analytics tools, and related technologies.
- Basic understanding of engineering principles connected to energy optimisation.
- Knowledge of energy regulations, industry standards, and certifications.
- A continuous improvement mindset with a focus on innovation and learning from past work.
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Energy Management, or a related discipline is required. A master’s degree or PMP certification would be an added advantage. Candidates should have at least 5 years of project management experience, ideally in energy management solutions or industrial manufacturing projects. PMP, LEED Accreditation, or similar sustainability and energy-related certifications are strongly preferred.
