Role Overview
We seek a seasoned Project Development Manager to lead our Irish Project Development team based in Cork. This pivotal leadership post involves steering the delivery of onshore wind and solar initiatives from initial development to investment approval, enhancing our renewable energy portfolio across Ireland. The role entails nurturing a team of project development experts and ensuring the successful advancement of diverse clean energy projects nationwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Track and control project scope, financials, and timelines effectively.
- Manage allocation of personnel and external consultant resources.
- Provide comprehensive project metric reporting to executive boards and governance bodies.
- Address and resolve developmental issues specific to projects in Ireland.
- Supervise overall project management and land acquisition teams within Ireland.
- Delivery of cost-competitive energy projects in line with corporate targets.
- Develop and refine project management standards, methodologies, and tools to boost efficiency.
- Ensure projects meet scheduled milestones, budgets, and quality standards.
- Troubleshoot vendor and consultant challenges to facilitate smooth transition to construction and operational teams.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout Ireland, Europe, and Statkraft globally to maintain consistency and excellence.
- Support strategic corporate decisions through milestone reporting.
- Directly report to the VP Development for Ireland; contribute as a vital part of the leadership team.
- Drive commercial initiatives and development activities actively to promote successful outcomes and profitability for Statkraft Ireland.
Qualifications and Experience
- Master’s degree in engineering or natural sciences with extensive relevant experience.
- Demonstrated success in managing development and construction phases of renewable energy or sizable infrastructure projects.
- Comprehensive knowledge of planning and developmental stages for onshore wind and solar power technologies.
- Experience with full project lifecycle budget and schedule accountability from inception through construction.
- Strong technical expertise in renewable energy systems and associated supply contracts.
- Proactive, solution-driven approach with keen attention to detail.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, organizational skills, and ability to prioritize competing demands.
- Passion for renewable energy coupled with pertinent industry insights.
- Ability to analyze issues, provide context, and generate actionable recommendations.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and related Office applications.
- Independent, self-motivated with proven ability to manage large workloads and multiple deadlines.
- Fluent English proficiency, both written and verbal.
