Overview
A global education firm is expanding its presence in Ghana and is seeking an experienced Professional Learning Manager to lead academic and pedagogical initiatives. This role functions as the primary academic authority ensuring instructional excellence, guiding program design, and fostering teacher development aligned with local and international standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide academic leadership, upholding instructional quality and alignment across all educational programs.
- Develop, implement, and continuously refine professional learning philosophies, frameworks, and standards.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in pedagogy, teacher training, and education systems, representing the organization externally.
- Design and tailor professional development courses for educators, school leaders, and partners to align with national curricula and global benchmarks.
- Oversee implementation methods in diverse settings including NGOs, government projects, and schools.
- Review and validate teaching materials, lesson structures, and assessments, ensuring both local relevance and adherence to best practices.
- Drive localization efforts across various countries and educational contexts.
- Create teacher development pathways that promote instructional enhancement and sustained platform engagement.
- Support training-of-trainers initiatives and institutional capacity building.
- Establish and monitor quality assurance processes to ensure instructional fidelity and effective learning outcomes.
- Collaborate closely with partnership and success management teams to integrate academic perspective into partnerships, onboarding, and ongoing support.
- Provide pedagogical guidance to product and leadership teams regarding educator needs.
- Define and measure success metrics concerning instructional quality, teacher engagement, and learner outcomes.
- Promote continuous improvement through evaluations, feedback mechanisms, and contributions to research and thought leadership.
Candidate Profile
- Possess a Master’s degree in Education; PhD is highly advantageous.
- At least 15 years of professional experience in education, specializing in program development, curriculum design, and teacher professional learning.
- Experience in senior educational leadership roles within education systems, NGOs, academic bodies, or large-scale programs.
- Proven ability to align educational programs with national and international standards.
- Strong expertise in teacher development, instructional coaching, and adult learning theories.
- Familiarity with diverse educational environments, including low-resource and emerging market contexts.
- Excellent communication skills with capacity to engage senior education stakeholders credibly.
- Strategic and practical thinker with a talent for scaling academic visions.
- Comfortable operating within a commercial educational technology setting.
- Possession of a reliable laptop and consistent internet access.
- Willingness to travel locally for training, partner relations, and site visits.
