About the team
You’ll join Lam Research’s Global Operations Group, where information systems, facilities, supply chain, logistics, and large-scale manufacturing work together to keep global operations running efficiently. The team supports the company’s ability to deliver advanced solutions quickly while helping sustain strong and resilient business growth.
Role overview
In this role, you will carry out testing and fault-finding on complete wafer fab equipment modules. The position is focused on diagnosing issues, supporting manufacturing, and helping improve production performance.
Key responsibilities
- Support manufacturing work by testing and troubleshooting software or hardware used in wafer fab equipment modules, including applications related to electronic circuits, photonics, and logic systems.
- Use work instructions, schematics, diagrams, layouts, and other technical documents to carry out testing and troubleshooting tasks.
- Contribute to technical troubleshooting efforts and continuous improvement or Kaizen activities.
- Serve as a buddy or guide for junior Production Test Technicians when needed.
- Operate all relevant test equipment and use manufacturing, diagnostic, development, and test tools such as test programs, oscilloscopes, signal generators, and other specialized apparatus.
- Follow product assembly instructions carefully to ensure proper function.
- Escalate issues and proposed solutions to the correct team or function.
Safety responsibilities
- Complete all mandatory safety training.
- Follow personal and product safety rules, including correct PPE use, cleanroom procedures, Lockout Tagout practices, and ZEST requirements.
- Use lifting and assembly aids such as lift hoists, lift tracks, gantry cranes, and lifting tools when handling tools or equipment.
- Carry out RMBWA inspections, record hazards, and correct or escalate safety concerns to the proper people or departments.
- Help maintain a safe workplace by addressing unsafe behavior quickly and escalating unresolved issues such as improper hoist use, poor tool or cable placement, blocked walkways, misuse of PPE, or missing cones/barriers.
Communication expectations
- Share timely updates with supervisors and co-workers by phone, email, written communication, or in person.
- Communicate clearly with relevant teams or sites when reporting production issues, suggesting improvements, and providing shift handover updates.
- Participate actively in meetings and training sessions.
Candidate profile
- A minimum diploma in Electronics & Electrical Engineering or Mechatronic Engineering is required.
- 6 to 8 years of relevant electrical and electronics testing experience is expected, depending on the level of the role.
- Strong written and spoken English communication skills are necessary.
- You should be adaptable to changing priorities, including rework, overtime, and limited travel to other Lam or customer facilities.
- Comfort using computer-based data systems and applications is important.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams is required.
Job requirements
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
- Capability to squat, kneel, walk, climb, and stand in ergonomically challenging positions for more than half of the workday.
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
- Comfort performing repetitive hand motions and using various hand tools.
- Ability to distinguish colors for wire identification.
- Experience using hand tools such as calipers, circuit testers, wrenches, hoists, ohm meters, screwdrivers, torque wrenches, ladders/platforms, and snipping tools/cutters.
