Role Overview
Saudi Paper Group is hiring a Production Planning Officer in Dammam, Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia. The role focuses on improving forecasting, keeping inventories at healthy levels, and ensuring production schedules support uninterrupted supply of finished goods.
Core Responsibilities
- Review and improve forecasting approaches so material inventory remains at an effective level.
- Study relevant data such as SKU-level sales history, sales office trends, and channel-wise sales to support accurate forecast reviews.
- Track inventory metrics and performance indicators, and share regular reports.
- Help develop, maintain, and refine Master Production Schedules (MPS) as well as weekly production plans.
- Coordinate with Sales, Finished Goods Warehouse, and Distribution teams regarding sales orders, back orders, upcoming requirements, and stock transfers to keep finished goods flowing smoothly across all channels.
- Work with production, purchasing, raw material warehouse, and raw material planning teams to maintain production continuity based on approved schedules.
- Watch execution of the production plan and act quickly to address possible disruptions.
- Escalate production issues, investigate root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
- Monitor material stock levels and suggest liquidation plans for slow-moving materials and phase-in/phase-out initiatives.
- Reduce obsolete inventory and help ensure the business carries minimal liability.
- Keep planning-related documentation and procedures updated so material requirements are properly met.
- Follow departmental policies, processes, SOPs, and instructions to ensure work is controlled and consistent.
- Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to enhance systems, processes, and practices, aligned with international best practice, cost reduction, and productivity gains.
- Carry out duties in a safe and environmentally responsible way.
- Perform any other tasks assigned by the direct supervisor or manager.
