Procurement Officer

Job Location and Type

The position is based in Oyo State and is offered as a full-time, onsite role.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the entire procurement process starting from requisition through to final delivery.
• Create, review, and expedite purchase orders to ensure supplies arrive on time.
• Identify, assess, and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers.
• Negotiate contract terms effectively to achieve cost savings.
• Track and manage inventory levels to guarantee availability of essential items.
• Work closely with the finance department for invoice reconciliation and prompt vendor payments.
• Maintain comprehensive procurement records, reports, and associated documentation.
• Ensure all procurement activities comply with internal policies, industry regulations, and standards.
• Assist in budget preparation and implement cost-control strategies.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• Possess a minimum of five years’ validated experience in a similar procurement role.
• Experience within sectors like Oil & Gas, Manufacturing, FMCG, or Engineering is advantageous.
• Demonstrated strong grasp of procurement procedures, vendor relations, and contract negotiations.
• Proficient in procurement and ERP-related software applications.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.
• Excellent capabilities in communication, analysis, and negotiation.
• Professional procurement certification is considered a significant asset.

Compensation

The monthly salary for this role is NGN 450000.
