Role Summary
This full-time, on-site Procurement Officer position based in Ntcheu oversees the entire procurement cycle for goods, services, and works. Key responsibilities include preparing and processing purchase requisitions and orders while ensuring adherence to legal, regulatory, and organizational policies. Daily duties cover collecting and assessing supplier quotations, participating in contract negotiations, supervising supplier performance, and maintaining comprehensive procurement records. The officer also analyzes procurement trends, assists with budgeting and forecasting, collaborates with departments to understand requirements, and ensures timely procurement of quality products and services at competitive prices.
Qualifications and Skills
- Expertise in procurement and purchasing to handle sourcing and supplier relationships effectively.
- Proficiency in managing purchase orders and related documentation for accurate and timely processing.
- Strong contract negotiation skills to secure advantageous agreements while maintaining ethical supplier relations.
- Analytical abilities to interpret procurement data, evaluate market trends, and support cost-effective strategies.
- Relevant diploma or degree in procurement, supply chain management, business administration, or similar is advantageous.
- Understanding of public procurement regulations, tendering processes, and compliance within government or public sectors is a plus.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills and familiarity with standard office software and procurement platforms.
- Effective communication skills, ability to collaborate with diverse teams, and a commitment to high ethical standards are essential.
