Role Overview
In this role, you will support the planning, design, rollout, and ongoing refinement of internal material movement systems that feed manufacturing lines. The work centers on safety, efficiency, cost control, and quality. You will partner across functions to shape conveyance methods, staffing needs, equipment selection, line-side and warehouse layouts, and replenishment approaches so raw materials reach the line in a safe and effective way.
The position is not limited to initial design. You will also work in a continuous improvement loop with operations to review current processes, remove waste, and improve material flow over time. A drive for ongoing excellence is a key expectation and an important part of building a world-class manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with Manufacturing Engineering, Production Process Engineering, Packaging Engineering, Logistics, Planning, and Factory Software teams to design and improve every part of material movement.
- Study data from multiple operational systems to build a PFEP, or Plan For Every Part.
- Perform warehouse capacity studies using safety stock and cycle stock needs to confirm available space and pallet storage requirements.
- Create detailed warehouse layouts that improve material movement and support the use of visual 5T signage for organized storage.
- Partner with Manufacturing and Production Engineers to design line-side part presentation layouts in CAD and Revit, ensuring ergonomic presentation and adequate quantities for delivery cycle timing.
- Carry out manpower calculations across different vehicle output levels so Production Control Operations is staffed appropriately for demand; use Yamazumi analysis to balance associate utilization and define equipment requirements.
- Learn and use the internally developed Material Flow System (MFS) to configure system process steps that match the physical flow of work.
Required Experience and Skills
- At least 2 years of experience in material flow engineering, process engineering, continuous improvement engineering, supply chain engineering, logistics, or manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of lean manufacturing methods, logistics business systems, and predetermined motion and time standards.

- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit for detailed layout development.
- Strong ability to collaborate across functions and solve problems as a team.
- Demonstrated use of lean tools to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
- Prior experience in World Class Manufacturing or Lean Manufacturing environments.
