Overview
Due to ongoing expansion, we are hiring a Planner to support our Southern Region operations focused around Kent and East Sussex. This role is critical in using prior site experience to assist site teams by solving engineering challenges and maintaining up-to-date and accurate project schedules aligned with NEC contract requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed monthly reviews of all project schedules to ensure changes are accurately reflected and recorded.
- Keep project programmes current, consistent, and compliant with contract stipulations; perform biweekly assessments of look-ahead schedules.
- Examine site documentation including contractual notices related to schedule matters and ensure submissions meet contract standards.
- Synchronize project change registers with actual work progress and contract details.
- Monitor project risk and opportunity registers to anticipate potential impacts.
- Identify and capture entitlements that may have been missed by site teams.
- Support site teams in protecting contractual programme entitlements and facilitating extensions of time claims.
- Collaborate closely with Contracts Managers to achieve project delivery targets.
- Offer guidance on planning, programming, construction methods, and resolve engineering problems.
- Engage with project teams and clients as necessary to recover contract changes.
- Assist the Programme Support Manager in refining strategic processes and systems.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for a Planner with deep experience in programme management, especially proficient in MS Project, to drive the delivery of complex highways projects governed by NEC contracts. The candidate should have thorough knowledge of NEC contractual frameworks and highways project management, with additional familiarity with Asta Planning seen as a plus. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential to maintain clarity and collaboration among project stakeholders. This role is primarily site-based in the southeast region, including travel to various sites in Kent and East Sussex.
