Role Overview

The Payroll Systems Analyst serves as a critical connector between HR, Payroll, and IT departments, focusing primarily on the SAP Payroll and Time & Attendance systems for Irish and UK payroll operations. This role involves translating business needs into comprehensive functional and technical specifications, producing solution design documents, and driving successful enhancements and system integrations. The analyst is instrumental in advancing system improvements, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting efficient Payroll processes through technology.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Product Owner to identify security and compliance requirements, especially regarding sensitive data and GDPR adherence, by consulting internal subject matter experts and product teams.
  • Take full responsibility for the Tirlán SAP Payroll application including system administration, upkeep, release and upgrade management, incident resolution, compliance adherence, and project implementation.
  • Keep the payroll system updated with country-specific legal changes, release notes, and compliance directives.
  • Offer application support for payroll and time & attendance issues involving internal and external stakeholders.
  • Advise developers and testers on expected system behaviors to support technical deliveries.
  • Assist the Product Owner in accomplishing product strategy by gathering detailed business requirements such as features and user stories and by designing technology-enabled business scenarios.
  • Provide guidance to business units on the technological, cost, and complexity implications of business process decisions to facilitate informed choices.
  • Conduct functional testing for new solutions and technical upgrade projects to verify system compliance with business needs.
  • Coordinate configuration release management activities in line with company policies.
  • Develop and maintain user manuals and training materials, and deliver training sessions to key users and support teams to foster product adoption and upkeep.
  • Support efforts to identify and implement automation opportunities to increase overall efficiency within product teams.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of system architecture, configurations, integrations, processes, and custom developments.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with SAP Payroll and Time & Attendance systems, preferably within a supply manufacturing context.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP ERP systems, purchasing workflows, and IT development methodologies.
  • Experience with system integration, process automation, and managing change.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to interpret data and derive practical insights.
  • Excellent communication skills suitable for interacting with stakeholders across all organizational levels.
  • Proven experience managing IT projects, notably within procurement or supply chain sectors.
  • Effective verbal and written communication capabilities.
