Payroll Specialist

Role overview

We are looking for a meticulous payroll professional to support payroll operations for Canadian entities. In this role, you will help ensure employees are paid accurately and on schedule, while keeping processes compliant with Canadian federal and provincial requirements. You will be part of the Americas Payroll & Time team and will handle bi-weekly payroll activities, employee support, reporting, and audit preparation.

This position follows a hybrid work arrangement and is based in either Oakville, Ontario or Brockville, Ontario.

Key responsibilities

• Run bi-weekly payroll for Canadian business units, including new hire setup, pay changes, role changes, and employee exits in ADP Workforce Now.
• Review and apply payroll rules to stay aligned with local, provincial, and federal requirements across multiple provinces.
• Handle employee questions through ServiceNow cases and phone support in a timely, professional manner.
• Compile and maintain monthly payroll audit documentation, and assist with annual audits involving outside and government auditors.
• Build and share monthly reports covering overtime, hours worked, headcount, and other payroll-related metrics.
• Work with local HR teams to manage benefits within payroll systems and keep employee data current in Employee Central.

What you should bring

We are seeking a process-focused payroll specialist with strong Canadian payroll knowledge, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively with HR and finance partners while protecting confidentiality.

• At least 5 years of payroll processing experience, including payroll across multiple Canadian provinces.
• Practical experience using ADP Workforce Now.
• Solid understanding of Canadian payroll legislation and income tax obligations.
• Strong spoken and written English communication skills.
• Ability to work accurately, independently, and with discretion.

Nice-to-have experience

• Background in a large multinational organization.
• Exposure to payroll project work or system migrations.
• Experience with SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central.

Compensation

The annual base salary for this role is CAD 80,900 to CAD 115,675. Actual pay will depend on market location and the candidate’s background. This range is only one part of the broader total rewards package, which also includes paid time off, paid holidays, merit increases, bonuses, and employee stock purchase programs. Some roles may also qualify for sales incentives based on revenue or utilization.

Salary benchmarks are aligned to new-hire pay levels for the Oakville, Ontario location.
