Role Overview
We are looking to hire a dedicated Occupational Therapist to deliver home-based therapeutic interventions that assist patients in managing daily tasks and improving their functional independence. The therapist will create and implement personalized care plans that address each patient’s unique needs in their own living environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct occupational therapy services in patients’ homes, concentrating on restoring and enhancing daily living skills.
- Develop individualized therapeutic strategies that promote patient autonomy and well-being.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care.
- Document treatment plans and patient progress meticulously.
- Adapt therapeutic approaches to suit the home settings and patient-specific conditions.
Qualifications and Skills
- Master’s degree or higher in Occupational Therapy obtained from an accredited institution.
- Current occupational therapy license valid for practice.
- Preferred experience working in home health care or community-based environments.
- Excellent clinical assessment and intervention skills tailored to home-based therapy.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with patients and caregivers.
- Ability to develop and manage flexible schedules and travel between patient homes.
Working Environment and Schedule
This position primarily involves working within patients’ residences across the Auckland area, allowing treatment plans to integrate familiar surroundings. The schedule generally runs from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM with flexibility based on patient needs and location travel.
