Role Overview
As a National Account Manager, you will spearhead efforts to expand company sales and broaden distributor and national account reach within the beverage alcohol sector. This role involves cultivating and maintaining existing relationships and collaborating with the national distribution network to secure new partnerships with national chains, thereby driving measurable results.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute direct sales initiatives targeting major national and regional off- and on-premise chains, including Duty-Free outlets, Cruise Lines, and Club accounts.
- Maintain and effectively utilize updated contact lists for leadership and distributor chain teams within National and Regional Accounts.
- Conduct training sessions and presentations aimed at off- and on-premise decision-makers to enhance distributor understanding and confidence in Dominion’s portfolio.
- Partner directly with the Vice President of Sales to produce impactful results in national and regional chains, overseeing programming, pricing strategies, distribution of new products, and managing requests for proposals (RFPs).
- Propose tactical activities suited to specific territories, identify new business opportunities, and coordinate with the VP of Branded Sales to secure adequate resources for implementation.
- Develop, update, and execute detailed account target lists.
- Collaborate across departments including Marketing, Operations, and Finance to coordinate and implement programming plans.
- Oversee in-market expenditures to ensure investments achieve profitability, revenue targets, and distribution goals for national chains.
- Leverage current marketing and programming efforts to design brand-building initiatives specific to targeted chains.
- Analyze market data, track trends, and adjust strategies for continuous improvement and opportunity capitalization.
- Create and contribute to chain-specific brand building calendars and activities, including new product development and private label initiatives.
- Maintain high professionalism, proactively prioritize tasks, communicate effectively, and provide regular monthly and quarterly performance updates to executive leadership.
- Manage and execute portfolio priorities and new product initiatives efficiently.
- Be open to taking on additional responsibilities and projects as needed.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 5 to 10 years of experience working in the beverage alcohol industry with a focus on National Accounts involving major national and regional chain clients.
- Comprehensive knowledge of on-premise and off-premise retail environments, including the three-tier distribution system, with proven experience in national account and distributor management.
- Established and current relationships with leaders in major National and Regional Off- and On-Premise Chain Accounts — candidates without these relationships will not be considered.
- Strong ability to persuasively communicate brand value and knowledge to National Account stakeholders.
- Capability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously with strong numerical and analytical skills to detect trends, challenges, and opportunities.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint, and skilled in internal reporting systems at the account and market levels.
- Flexible schedule to accommodate customer needs and willingness to travel approximately 10% of the time.
- Attend scheduled chain promotions and promotional activities as required.
- Strong negotiation, problem-solving abilities, and presentation expertise.
- Fluency with VIP, Karma, IRI, IMI, and RangeMe platforms.
- Current valid driver's license and ability to meet insurance requirements for company vehicles.
- Hold Alcohol Beverage Commission licenses as required by relevant states.
- Physical capability to lift and move up to 45 pounds occasionally.
- Familiarity with preferred customer accounts such as Total Wine, Kroger, Meijer, Albertsons, Walmart, Costco, Sam’s, Publix, Go Puff, ABCFW, Walgreens, BevMo, and various restaurant chains and cruise lines.

Additional Information
- This is an independent contractor position (1099), compensated via commission only—no base salary or relocation assistance provided.
- Employment location is preferably near a major US airport in Florida, Texas, or North Carolina.
- No employee benefits are offered.
- Travel requirements are approximately 10% and flexible working hours are necessary to meet customer schedules.
- Physical demands include occasional lifting of cases weighing up to 45 pounds; work environment noise level is typically moderate.
