Role Overview

The Merchandise Planner will be instrumental in managing range planning, forecasting, procurement, and tracking the performance metrics related to sales, stock levels, and markdowns. Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with franchise partners to establish seasonal Open-to-Buy (OTB) plans aligned with financial objectives.

  • Implement tactical measures to meet key performance indicators such as sales targets, sell-through rates, and optimal inventory closing stock levels.
  • Support the execution of pre-season initiatives including launch scheduling, allocation planning, pricing strategies for new seasons, and range development.
  • Curate and oversee product assortments, strategically enhancing performance over the product lifecycle.
  • Facilitate in-season operations including managing repeat purchase orders, markdown strategies, and stock consolidation.
  • Foster collaborative and productive relationships within the team, across functional units, and franchise partners.
  • Analyze region-specific and partner-specific market characteristics and competitor activities to optimize business outcomes.
  • Contribute to departmental projects aimed at improving IT systems and overall departmental productivity.

Candidate Requirements

  • A degree in Finance, Accountancy, Business, Retail Management, Statistics, Business Analytics, Mathematics, or Supply Chain Management.
  • Preferably a minimum of two years of relevant professional experience; however, applicants without prior experience will also be considered.
  • Basic understanding of merchandising, buying procedures, and product knowledge.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and excellent computing skills.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and multitasking capabilities to navigate a dynamic work environment.
