Role overview
The MEP Engineer will be responsible for the execution and supervision of mechanical and related building services works at the project site. The role covers HVAC, piping, firefighting, utility systems, coordination across disciplines, contractor management, quality control, and commissioning support.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and carry out mechanical scope execution, including HVAC, piping, firefighting, and utility systems.
- Work to approved GA drawings, P&IDs, layouts, and project specifications during site execution.
- Coordinate closely with Civil, Electrical, and other MEP teams to prevent clashes and ensure smooth installation.
- Spot and close interface gaps between mechanical works and other disciplines.
- Implement firefighting systems such as hydrants, sprinklers, and related packages.
- Support first-fix and second-fix installation activities at site.
- Assist in installation and coordination of shared/common services racks.
- Check GA drawings for inconsistencies and coordination issues.
- Conduct regular coordination meetings with internal teams and vendors.
- Manage contractors to maintain quality, safety, and productivity standards.
- Track work progress and prepare daily and weekly progress reports.
- Support installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems.
- Maintain compliance with QA/QC requirements, ISO standards, and safety processes such as LOTO and PTW.
- Work with vendors and EPC contractors such as L&T and similar organizations.
Requirements
- Strong working knowledge of HVAC, piping, and firefighting systems.
- Ability to read and interpret GA drawings, P&IDs, and layouts.
- Experience handling MEP and Civil coordination as well as interface resolution.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards linked to mechanical works.
- Understanding of first-fix and second-fix execution and services rack installation.
- Practical exposure to pipe laying in MS, SS, PPH, PVDF, HDPE, and uPVC materials.
- Knowledge of associated utilities and systems such as HVAC, AHU, MAU, RCU, chilled water, centrifugal chillers, compressed air, PCW, heat exchangers, cooling towers, UPW, and WWTP.
- Strong communication, coordination, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Comfortable working in multi-disciplinary construction environments.
- Experience in mechanical construction and project execution.
- Background in firefighting package execution.
- Exposure to installation, testing, and commissioning activities.
- Experience working with reputable EPC contractors.
Qualifications
BE / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
Experience
5 to 10 years of relevant experience in mechanical construction, MEP/Civil coordination, interface management, and project execution.
Work location
Dholera, Gujarat, India.
