Role Overview

We are seeking a driven medical professional with scientific expertise to lead therapeutic area strategies, generate evidence, and drive impactful patient outcomes in New Zealand. This position focuses on bridging cutting-edge clinical insights with real-world application while building robust relationships with clinicians and researchers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Stay updated on disease states, treatment protocols, product therapies, patient experiences, and healthcare system factors.
  • Analyze emerging clinical evidence to support scientific decision-making and communication.
  • Provide expert scientific contributions to cross-functional teams.
  • Create medical strategies based on evidence, insights, priorities, and external developments.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders for aligned implementation of plans.
  • Forecast scientific and system changes and incorporate in future planning.
  • Represent the medical function in brand development, product launches, and lifecycle discussions.
  • Manage therapy area medical budgets aligned with financial plans and strategies.
  • Lead insight gathering from field teams, external experts, and clinical trends, utilizing digital tools as applicable.
  • Identify gaps in evidence affecting patient care, treatment access, and adoption.
  • Support or lead local evidence-generation projects, such as real-world evidence studies, registries, and Phase IV research.
  • Clearly interpret evidence and communicate its impact.
  • Incorporate patient perspectives and lived experiences into strategic planning.
  • Engage with patient groups to understand unmet needs and barriers in care pathways.
  • Support initiatives that enhance patient awareness, treatment pathways, and care quality.
  • Educate teams on patient journey and treatment decision influencers.
  • Develop professional relationships with healthcare professionals, researchers, and industry organizations.
  • Organize and facilitate medical advisory boards and roundtable discussions.
  • Deliver educational presentations and medical training sessions to healthcare audiences.
  • Ensure all scientific interactions are balanced, transparent, and compliant with regulations.
  • Support scientific components of access, reimbursement, and health policy initiatives.
  • Review promotional and educational materials for accuracy, fairness, and compliance.
  • Partner with Therapy Area Specialists to maintain consistent scientific messaging.
  • Manage approvals, documentation, and medical accuracy across communication channels.
  • Exhibit integrity and sound scientific judgment in all activities.
  • Develop and lead the medical omnichannel strategy incorporating digital tools.
  • Utilize content authoring tools and analytics platforms to enhance scientific exchange.
  • Stay informed about digital health advancements, AI applications, and related technologies.
  • Report adverse events promptly within 24 hours in accordance with company policies.
  • Commit to workplace health and safety standards and uphold company conduct codes.
  • Perform additional duties as necessary.

Required Qualifications

  • Degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Medicine, Nursing, or a related field.
  • Experience in Medical Affairs, clinical research, or similar scientific roles.
  • Postgraduate education in Pharmaceutical Medicine, Medical Affairs, Public Health, Clinical Research, Epidemiology, Health Economics, or Digital Health.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting evidence generation activities.
  • Ability to engage external experts and healthcare system partners effectively.
  • Proficiency with medical systems and analytical tools, including Veeva and dashboards.

  • Quality and clarity of medical plans with effective cross-functional collaboration.
  • Timely and insightful translation of data into strategy and decision-making.
  • Significant contributions to evidence generation and quality use of medicines outcomes.
  • Strong scientific relationships and credibility with external stakeholders.
