Position Overview

We are looking for a skilled Marine Superintendent with 3 to 5 years of commanding experience as a Captain on Breakbulk, General Cargo, Bulk Carrier, or Container Ships. This position entails the supervision of vessel activities, ensuring marine regulatory compliance, managing cargo handling, conducting bunker fuel surveys, performing risk assessments, and leading technical coordination for secure and efficient maritime operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee vessel operations to comply with company standards, international maritime laws, and industry regulations.
  • Develop and review method statements, risk assessments, operational procedures, and marine documentation for vessel and project cargo operations.
  • Lead coordination of breakbulk, container, and project cargo handling, ensuring safe loading, unloading, stowage, and transport.
  • Manage bunker surveys and verify bunker quantities and fuel management processes.
  • Ensure adherence to ISM, ISPS, MLC, SOLAS, MARPOL codes and other maritime regulatory frameworks.
  • Analyze vessel inspections, audits, Port State Control findings, and RightShip requirements.
  • Offer operational advice and assistance to vessel masters and crews.
  • Track vessel performance, maintenance schedules, safety management, and operational productivity.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Possession of a Master Mariner (FG) Certificate of Competency.
  • At least 3 to 5 years' experience as Captain/Master on Breakbulk, General Cargo, Bulk Carrier, or Container Vessels.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of marine operations, cargo management, vessel inspections, and maritime legal standards.
  • Practical experience in bunker surveys and marine operational auditing.
  • Proficiency in preparing and evaluating method statements, risk assessments, and operational guidelines.
  • Strong grasp of HSEQ principles and conducting incident investigations.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, coordination, and analytical problem-solving abilities.
  • Competent in MS Office and marine reporting tools.

Preferred Profile

  • Experience with project cargo, heavy-lift, breakbulk, and port operations.
  • Familiarity with vessel acquisitions, inspections, dry dock procedures, and marine compliance management.
